MANA crop portectionParazone Paraquat 3SL herbicide

USE PROPER FIRSTAID WITH PARAZONE

Chemical Exposure can occur in three ways

  • Skin and eye contact
  • Inhalation
  • Oral Ingestion

    ORAL INGESTION / SWALLOWING

Parazone contains a green dye, a stenching agent (unmistakable, unpleasant odor) and an emetic which causes vomiting if ingested.

If you are exposed to Parazone 3SL by oral ingestion (by swallowing):

  • SPEED IS ESSENTIAL. Immediate medical attention is required. If available, give something absorbent, such as activated charcoal, bentonite or Fuller's earth
  • Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice
  • Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person
  • Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow.
  • Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor.

    SKIN AND EYE CONTACT

The most likely route of exposure to Parazone 3SL is skin contact. Parazone 3SL is not easily absorbed through skin, and can be effectively removed by washing with water.

If you are exposed to Parazone 3 SL by skin or eye contact:

  • Take off any contaminated clothing (skin contact)
  • Rinse skin or eye immediately with plenty of water for 15 - 20 minutes (for eyes, hold eyelid open and rinse slowly and gently)
  • Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice

    INHALATION CONTACT

Exposure to Parazone by inhalation is not typical, because particle size and spray droplets are typically too large to inhale. [NOTE - even though the danger of inhalation is small, the product can irritate the skin and mucous membranes of your nasal passages, causing nosebleeds, so make sure to follow all instructions regarding use of the product, wear all prescribed PPE and be careful when using the product]

If you are exposed to Parazone 3 SL by inhalation

  • Move exposed person to fresh air
  • The odor of this product is from the added stanching agent, not from the paraquat
  • If person is not breathing, call 911 or ambulance
  • Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice
